Lina Inverse
This is the ever-so talented, Lina Inverse. She's the main character of the series and is about 15 at the beginning. She has quite a temper, very powerful in dark magic (and a little in the nightmare magic), and is insulted a lot for having a small chest....
... She is very well known for being a powerful sorceress, and her two popular spells are Dragon Slave and Fireball.
Before she met the Slayers Gang, she had travelled around (well, I would say more followed by) with Naga, aka Naga the White Serpent, with her deafening laugh and lack of clothing... But enough about her, since this is about Lina.
She had left home about 13 and had lived with only her sister(parents status unknown), Luna Inverse, of whom Lina is absolutely terrified of. It is exactly certain why she is scared of her sister, but some would think that Luna being the knight of Ceipheed and a certain 'thing' Lina did to her had contributed to that.

What it's About
Basically, its about a hot-tempered (not to mention powerful) Sorceress, a stupid swords-man (that happens to have a sword that can kill mazoku), a cold hearted hybrid, a justice-obsessed princess, and a secretive mazoku.
Each have their own reasons for being there, and they just travel around everywhere.
Lina, a well known sorceress, blows up bandits for fun and for money. Gourry's there because he swore to protect Lina forever. Zelgadis is only around til he finds a cure, Amelia to fill the world with Justice, and Xellos' is unknown to the group as of yet.

CC: because you are my least favourite of the group... and I have limited sections with this set-up... So shove it.
Gourry is the first to meet Lina in the series. He had first thought she was a little girl, instead of a damsel in distress. He's basically an idiot, and has the IQ of a pet rock.
Amelia is the princess of Seyruun, the White-magic capital. She is somewhat klutzy, I think a little younger than Lina, and is a strong justice supporter.
Amelia also develops quite a crush on rock-boy, also known as Zelgadis, since he had agreed to train her in the arts of shamnaism.
All for now, until I feel like updating again.
Other chars I feel like mentioning
this is where I'm gonna mention a few others in the series that pop up
REZO- zel's grandfather/great-grandfather. He's blind, somewhat insane, and a host of shabranigdo.
ERIS- Rezo's helper. Is in love with Rezo and has no fashion sense.
MARTINA- travels with the group a bit, princess of a dead city, because Lina blew it up. Zoamelgustav is the god she prays to that doesn't exist. Marries Zangulus.
ZANGULUS- Challenges Gourry to sword fights a lot, to prove he's better, but never wins. Eventually marries Martina... dunno why.
PHIBRIZZO- the oldest of the mazoku lords and the most powerful, known also as Hellmaster. Looks live a 7 year old.... and sometimes acts it.
LORD OF NIGHTMARES- She is god, represented by Gold. Worship her. Makes a cameo apparance in Lina's body...
DYNAST GRAUSHERRA- Never shows in the series, but I am obsessed with him, so I shoul;d mention him of course. He has two generals, and two priests (I am right about this, I've checked, so don't disagree!) his generals are Sherra and Norst, his Priests are Grau and Grou. He is is known to be the smartest/most logical of the 5 and possibly the most ruthless. Apears only in the novels so far.
NAGA THE WHITE SERPENT: She travelled with Lina for two years, and yes, for anyone who doesn't know, She is Amelia's older sister. She has an incredibly annoying laugh which terrifies/deafens everyone in its path. She is usually introduced laughing ("OHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOH!) followed immediately by bouncing, which would be from her ridiculously large breasts(contrary to Lina.. so you can guess what happens there).

Zelgadis Greyweres
Ahh, yes Zelgadis. The quiet, brooding, heartless member of the group. Also a quite popular one.
Zel is a hybrid. He is 1/3 human, demon (specified as Brow/blue I think), and golem. He wasn't always like that, no. He used to be a human like us. Then he met his insane, blind grandfather. He worked with him for awhile and wanted to learn spells and such. Unfortunately he was a very... crappy sorcerer. He could only cast simple light spells and such. So he asked his grandfather "Make me more powerful!", which was, of course, a very bad idea, since Rezo is insane.
But he got his wish. He was now very powerful. As well as no longer completely human. He had blue, rocky skin. Being a teenager with low self-esteem, he hated Rezo for it and found he was nothing but a monster and ugly. So he pretty much spent the remaining time looking for a cure... Well after being freed from Rezo's control (told ya he was insane).
He runs into Lina at some point, first as enemies, then about an episode later, they travelled together (with Gourry). He didn't enjoy it and kept pointing out that he was only with them til he found a 'cure', but we know he eventually grew fond of them. ^^
His age is not entirely sure. But I think he's about 17 when he comes in. |
Xellos Metallium
Xellos: why am I at the bottom, when there's a big gap at the top beside Lina?

Xellos is the general/priest for Zelas, one of the mazoku lords. He is a full mazoku (cute one at that) and his favourite line is "sore wa himitsu desu!" or "that is a secret!". Because he is a mazoku, he feeds of negative emotions, and therefore, loves to do nothing better than to piss everyone off and annoy them. And for the fun of it, he sometimes helps them out...
He comes in in Slayers NEXT, posing as a human priest, well they assume he is, which is their fault. They don't discover he is a mazoku until the fight against Valgaav (around there at least) When Valgaav points this out. At least I think. Don't bug me with details.
He especially enjoys pissing off Filia, the gold dragon of the group, in which they also despise eachother. That is quite understandable, considering mazoku and dragons have been trying to wipe eachother out for... well since Shabranigdo and ceipheed have been alive, leave it at that. He is referred to as "namagomi" (garbage/trash) by Filia, which Xellos isn't too fond of, which would be yet another reason why he loves pissing her off.
